rdless of how ‘skilled’, or ‘prepared’, one thought themse-
lves to be.at the mention of his probending career, however, he pur-
ses his lips, and arches a brow. ah. there it was; the sou-
rce of her animosity. or so he perceives. but regardless
of this fact, of what he thinks he knows, he’ll ask:❝ a ‘million’ things, you say; yet here you are,
lingering just outside of the arena. that alone is
a bit suspicious, if you ask me. ❞❝ —— where is all of this resentment coming
from, mm? i hardly deserve any of it; after all,

hell, she dealt with them on a daily basis
from people who didn’t feel like taking
her own smugness. the end comment,
however, did bother her. she didn’t appreciate
her motives being questioned.

{ the lie, like all of them, came easily to rose.
but she had a feeling this guy could see right past
whatever bullshit she was trying to pull with him.
so, rather than going further into her fake hatred
for pro-bending, she mearly shrugged her shoulders
and kicked a nearby rock with her scuffed sneakers. }
